I need educating on schedule 40 piping specs.
Is there a specific pressure rating for a schedule 40 cast iron fitting?

I am looking for fittings/piping to be used for a 12 bar compressed air application and I am concerned using the run-of-the-mill iron fitting you can pick up at any plumbing store.

No.

You are right to be concerned. At 12 bar folks can get hurt when the system finds the weak link. Hire a reputable engineer, identify the code which will apply to your situation, and you'll stay out of trouble.

run of the mill fittings still have a stamp with a pressure rating, unless they are truely some sort of homemade without a stamp...

You may need someone to help deciphor the stampings
