I'm trying to create a wave washer (wave spring) similar to the attached GIF.

It's not too difficult to create the circular path with 4 "hills" and "valleys", but when I try to sweep a rectangular cross section around the path, it banks the shape so it's not parallel at the top of the peaks and bottom of the valleys.

Is there a way to do keep the cross section parallel?

Maybe try modeling only 1/6th of this wave washer then instance the geometry, and then unite all the bodies.
What version of NX are you on?

I don't remember if you can instance the geometry in NX4 or not

About 1/2 way through this thread, thread561-253230, you will find a model of a wave washer posted by John Baker.

Thanks. That is a very handy parametric-driven model.

But I'm required to work in NX4. I was able to access a coworker's NX5 station to view the file. Now I'll try to duplicate it in NX4.
