Hi all,
I've built a fe-model of box beam with rod elements(CROD) and shear plates(CSHEAR). The model is a very simple cantilever, which is constrained fully (DOF123456) at an edge and loaded at another edge.
What i am concerned with is :the model wasn't solved smoothly by NASTRAN because of matrix singularity. However, in case of opting "PARAM,BAILOUT,-1" ,the solution seemed good. But i'm reluctant to resort BAILOUT.
i found an example ploblem which deals with a shear beam(not a box) and is modeled with rod and shear plates. The commentary indicates that all grids must be constrained of all rotational degrees(DOF456).
i think that all nodes must be constrained of DOF456 in a fe-model which are built with only rod elements and shear plates.
How do you think about this?
Thanks!
