Problem with .cgr file 3

I've used Catia V5R16, but in DMU, CATIA can't open any *.cgr file and send me an message "Invalid format for Open. Use Insert->Existing component ...".

Someon can tell me what I have to do for use my cgr file??
And how I can change all .CATpart file in a ammsebly product to .cgr file by doing just one time, please?

get some catia assemby training & lookup visualisation / cache mode and manage representations, you also could do what the message says if you want the cgr in an assemby as a specific component.

Hi,

You can't open directly cgr files, you have to insert them in a CATProduct....as PeterGuy already suggested...

Thanks for your answer, I've already opened my files cgr. In fact, I need to save an product assembly with the product extension *.CATPart to *.cgr. Instead of saving one file each time, I'm looking for the way to save all file *.part to *.cgr by keeping my product.

Look in DMU and " Save as Frozen ". There is a funcion to save as frozen link with cache (CGR). This will give you a CATProduct with CGR.

J've just tried the function "Save As frozen" and choiced "Save products linked with cache" in DMU Navigator to save all my *.CATPart file to *.cgr.

I alaways receive the message :" Error copying file ***.CATPart.2008-02-27-16.46.42.cgr in directory C:\...".

I've tried with different product but I've got the same error message. Could you tell me where the problem come from (my configuration of CATIA or my product or my computer)??

And how can I modify the line "CATPart.2008-02-27-16.46.42" in the name of my new file cgr.
