Hi,
I don't have much experience using FEA for floor slabs and I can't figure out what I'm doing wrong. I've been trying to work out example problem 3 on page 105 in this document: The total factored load comes out to about 232 psf.Based on that I loaded each of the 5657 nodes with 226 lbs. When I run the stiffness analysis, I get very low moments (Mxx and Myy) according to the finite element contours, nothing greater than 50 kip-in/in. I've tried all sorts of different support conditions but It doesn't help much. I've
attached the macro I used to create the slab, including the rigid bodys, columns and loads, I use GTSTrudl 27. Any help would be greatly appreciated.
Thanks,
Jack

not familiar with the actual data entry required by the code, but am a bit concerned with loading "each" element with 226 lbs/ft2, rather than the load magniture for a given element

Thanks for you respondse hacksaw,
I finally figured out what I was doing wrong.
