Problems output of results in VISTA 1

It seems that ANSYS isnt fully compatible with Vista. When I do a modal analysis in ANSYS and try to write the results to a txt it seems to work just fine in XP, but in Vista I always get an empty file.

FINISH
/POST1
!* write output to file C:\tmpANSYS\eigfreq.txt
/OUTPUT,eigfreq,txt,C:\tmpANSYS\,
!* specify output
SET,LIST

I have turned off the UAC of Vista. I cant find out why it doesnt work on Vista while it just works fine on XP. Any help and suggestions are appreciated.

this probably is not going to help you, but just as a joke anyway:
when i purchased my new notebook with pre-installed vista after one day of use i decided to kick out vista and return to xp

Try:

FINISH
/POST1
!* write output to file C:\tmpANSYS\eigfreq.txt
!
! READ IN RESULTS here.........
!
!
/OUTPUT,eigfreq,txt,C:\tmpANSYS\,
!* specify output
SET,LIST
/out

You will need to read the results file in.

The last "/out" is needed to close the file out, but you need to read the above in from an external text file to ensure it works correctly, or you can choose:

Utility Menu>File>Switch Output to>File

choose the file and then choose:

General Post-Processor > List Summary.

You can also list the summary in /post1 and then do a "Save as" in the summary dialogue box.

Drej; I tried your method however it didn't work. But I found an alternative solution for this problem:

/POST1
/OUTPUT,eigfreq,txt,C:\tmpANSYS\,
*get,Frequentie1,MODE,1,FREQ
*get,Frequentie2,MODE,2,FREQ
*get,Frequentie3,MODE,3,FREQ
*STATUS,Frequentie1
*STATUS,Frequentie2
*STATUS,Frequentie3

In this way it always works, however it's weird that the other method doesn't work (anymore).
