Hello!

I'm not quite sure how Abaqus handles different units.

I have a rectangle, 5 X 10 micrometers each distance. I modeled it 5 X 10, shouldn't that be ok?

My material has a youngs modulus of 14.8 GPa end yield strength of 121 MPa. Since I am operating with micrometers, do I have to convert it from N/mm^2 to N/um^2 ? In that case, I entered
0.0148 and 0.000121 for youngs modulus and yield strength, respectively.

For the load, which is 1 uN, I entered 1*10*-6 N.

This does not give me the expected results. Primarily too small displacements.

What am I not understanding?

Thank you very much!

I find it easiest to stick to SI units no matter how stupid the inputs seem. So input it all in Newtons, meters and seconds, even though your micro meters would have a x10^-6.

Having said that I'm now using inches, pounds-force and seconds and it is a nightmare.
