I have been asked to learn how to test and develope test plans for generator portection panels. These relays inculde DGP's, BW 3425A, SEL 387, and LPSO. I realize this is a big task and was wondering if anyone here is familiar with any of these relays and could offer some advice? I have a Doble F6150 test set which does have some test plans for some of these relays. However quickly looking at some of them I feel they might be overkill regarding the testing required. Again if anyone has experience on any of these and wouldn't mind giving insight that would be greatly appreciated.

Regards,
Chris

Develop test plans? Why wouldnt you use test procedures that are already in place. See IEEE and or NETA for references.

Hello,

I think that you should also take a look at the relays'manufacturers manuals.
They usually include a section in which it is described the test procedure to evaluate relays performance, it may be useful to you!

Of course, it is always good to define if testing all of the functions is useful to you, because, sometimes it is a extensive job.

Best Regards,
