Hi all,

1-Can someone please tell what would be the schedule for a 6" fibercast pipe? the specification of the pipe is: Fibercast RB-2530

2- What would be the loss coefficient (K value) of an expansion joint?

Please, if possible reply with references.

Thank you.

For the Fibercast pipe schedule, I've looked on the internet. Nothing specific shows up.

For the Expansion Joint pressure loss coefficient, I believe it can be found in the manufacturer's cutsheet, but since I'm designing a new system I'd like to know at least the typical values.

Hi
LittleInch,

Thanks for the information, in one of the links I found this Handbook of Hydraulic Resistance, it has some interesting data

Since the design of expansion joints varies wildly (how big? how many convolutions? is there a flow liner?) you should ask the supplier for a value. I wouldn't try to interpolate or guestimate a value, outside of maybe assuming something like 1 psi drop and in your calcs and stating that plainly.
