I'm having issues with the publications not understaning there reference and when I create link, they are green diamond links. There are even parameters that won't sure they are published until I open them in new window. I NEVER had any issues in R18. Anyone else having issues or is there a fix I don't know about.

Sounds like you used to use R18, but now you don't? Which release are you currently using?

Publications still work the same in R19 & R20 as they did in R18.

The green diamond symbols in your referenced elements mean that you have copied & linked geometery, but not with publications. (stuff that is linked with publications will show a blue-green P symbol)

The issues you are having are probably due to having different Tools+Options set, compared to how you had them set in R18.

In slide #3 it shows that SLIDE 1 CYLINDER MOUNT PLATE is out of context - what happens to those external parameters, when the plate is IN CONTEXT? (I'm not sure if that's causing the problem, but that's the only thing I see that's "wrong")

which release are you using?

just noticed your using V5R20 SP4 (duhhh - wish we could edit these posts!)

and thanks for the powerpoint - very helpful to understand the problem!)

its the same thing when it is in context. the other thing that is weird, that in slide 1, in the publications window it tells me no element, so when i try to reconnect the parameter, it gives me an error, when i try to add a new publication using that parameter, it just says no element again....see attached jpeg

All the parts are loaded (at least the referenced parts)? And in Design mode?

Yes. I doubled checked my PKT file as well and all is ok there. This is an instantiated assembly. I think there is something happening when I instantiate. I just did 2 tests and 1 gave me the issue and the other didn't. I will have to investigate further
