Dear all,

I am new in pyroshock analysis and I am trying to assess the stresses caused by a pyroshock in the structure a small satellite. In order to do so, I'm using NASTRAN's Shock Response Spectrum method in sol103 (with NRL method of summation) since the shock data I have is defined in the frequency domain (Acceleration in G vs Frequency). However, the analysis is not turning out very well: I get very high stresses which I do not expect for structural parts (about 1e9 MPa).

I am aware that this method is an approximation, but given the unrealistic results I get, I was wondering if it is really adequate to use it for this kind of phenomena. Is there any other method which may be more appropriate? Any suggestion?

Thank you very much in advance

Kind regards
