Hello everyone
I need help with an assignment, I have to do a study on heat transfer on Abaqus. And I will confess to you that I have a bit of trouble to understand all of them. I want to define the temperatures to be applied, but it's flows that I have to fill in on abaqus?
If someone can help me and explain all this to me?
I thank you in advance

If you want to apply temperature to part of the model, use the Create Boundary Condition option in the Load module. If you want to apply heat flux, use the Create Load option in the same module.

There are many YouTube tutorials showing how to perform heat transfer analyses in Abaqus, they can be helpful to start working in this software.

Ok, but the thing I don't understand is, that I have to make a temperature like heat transfer or radiation, but in the tutorials they make all a thermal conductivity in W/m^2

Thermal conductivity is in W/(m*K). The W/m^2 unit could be used to define a surface heat flux load.

What exactly do you want to simulate ? Can you share a scheme and/or description of this task ?

I just want to apply a Temperature on a surface, one with Heat transfert (conduction) and the other one with radiation. But I have only Temperature = 200°C.
I don't know how to do to make them on abaqus

Prescribing temperature to a surface is easy - just use Create BC —> Temperature and specify the magnitude. Defining radiation on a surface is a bit more complex. You have to switch to the Interaction module and choose Create Interaction —> Surface radiation. Then specify the emissivity and ambient temperature. Make sure that you have sufficient input data to solve this problem.

I see, that's my problem. To define the boundary conditions of my components I use BC, but when I want to define the radiation and conduction that will be applied to the structures I only have a temperature x. I don't have the emissivity and ambient temperature data.
Do you know if I can determine them from the temperature?

Ambient temperature is the temperature of the environment in which the structure is placed. In many cases you can assume standard room temperature.

Emissivity depends on the type of material and surface finish. You can find some approximate values in literature. Even Wikipedia has a small table with exemplary values of emissivity.

Ok i see what u mean,
the only things that I don't understand, is that I have to make a radiation heat transfer of 100°C in my subject but in fact I can't make it ?
Is just the ambiant temperature that I can value ?

If that’s how it’s phrased in the text of the task (quite imprecisely), it’s probably about the ambient temperature.

Hello,

I'm coming back to you to know if you know how to model conductive contacts via screwed connections on Abaqus.

Thanks for your feedback

Hello

I have two plates, I have to glue them together, on one side of a plate I have to put a heat flux density and on the other side I have to put a temperature.
The problem is that I don't know how to create the interactions between the two plates

Do you know how I can do it?
