Question about NASTRAN execution / installation

Dear all,

I had a question concerning the execution of NASTRAN.
It is installed on stations which have 96 cores.
Nevertheless, when I execute a simple SOL103, the program works very well but occupies only 100% of one core.

(1) Is this a problem of installation ?

(2) Are there specific commands that activate the execution on all the cores ?

I thank you for your response,

Best regards,

Evangéline

Are you using MSC Nastran? I think what you're looking for is the command PARALLEL which allows you to use SMP in the different solvers.
It is also important to notice that performance varies with solver and is not always convenient to put more cores.
Check this article for more info :)

Diego
