Questions about Abaqus Interaction and Deform 2

I just want to know, must I define the constraint(the third button in interaction)？

Because when I don't do this step, I find only the ball moves, but the beam don't bend. It's confused

You have to define contact (aka interaction) between the beam and the ball.

And do not forget specifying normal behavior.
