We have got a stainless steel valve 16" class 600 and its a cold service natural gas where the tempratures reach -60 we want to replace the gasket but the available gasket is PTFE with stainless steel inner race and a coated carbon steel outter race so os there any worry aboit the carbon steel otter race

You will have problems with PTFE and the carbon steel as you said it has. A good carbon steel for you would be the 9% nickel alloy, very used for very low temperature. Try to check it. Take a look for gasket for low temperature that maybe your client has good specification. I used PTFE very well but no more than -29oC, bellow this it is a new world of gasket.
