"Punch sampler" or "Punch boring" 1

Is anyone familiar with such terminology?, can anyone explain what is it about or if there is another name for this in the industry?. Any ASTM?

Sounds to me like that would be a reference to direct push technology (geoprobe, power probe)

After doing a bit of research, there is something called "Hydropunch sampler" which is used for water sampling.
