Deep diving into dissimilar T-TS qualifications, Hoping someone can clarify QW-288.1 (I)
QW-288.1(i)
A change in the P-No. of the tube or tubesheet material
(if the tubesheet material is part of the weld), a
change in the P-No. or A-No. of the tubesheet cladding material
(if the cladding material is part of the weld), or a
change in a material not assigned a P-No. or A-No.

Qualification was performed on Inco 825 P45 (Tubesheet)& Inco 625 P43 (Tubes). Interpreting QW-288.1(i).....PQR may not qualify the opposite (P45 tubes & P43 Tubesheet). I hope this is not the case as long as essential variables remain the same. Maybe ASME is worried about the amount of dilution from the TS compared to the tube. I have researched interpretations with no success. Can anyone give me any light? I would greatly appreciate your help.

You are correct in your interpretation that the WPS is limited to a tube material and tubesheet material P-No. Most likely, the committee recognizes the tube to tubesheet weld joint configuration is unique based on design and function and requires re-qualification for any P-No or clad/weld overlay material change.

Metengr,

I appreciate your response, I guess my only option is to seek customer approval.
