I have a torque load cell that I modeled in SolidWorks and sectioned it into fourths. After importing into Abaqus and meshing it, I applied radial symmetry to create a whole piece in the assembly. I then added tie constraints to adjacent faces, boundary condition to pin the base, and coupled moment of 4 N*m to the top face. After running the job and viewing the stress at a deformation scale factor of 1, the top face where the moment is applied seems to burst out like a cup. Am I missing any constraints and can someone please help? [Here]( is a walk through of my steps.

Looks like its enlarging because of the rotation, i.e. only visually.

I ran the Sim again with NLGEOM on and it seemed to solve the problem. Thank You.
