Hi all,

I have a question regarding Wall group forces in RAM SS. Does anybody know how RAM calculates Torsion in its Wall Group Force. I am not able to find this information online or in their manuals. I am working on a gym, with plan dimension 100' x 60' and 30' high walls and i am getting high values of torsion. There is no irregularity in the building. I have never considered torsion while designing my shear walls and used only the shear and moment obtained from the analysis for my design. Can somebody please help me out with this, if there is some good reading material i can refer and if anyone who uses RAM for their analysis do you consider the torsion obtained form wall group forces.

Thank you,
Day

Can you post something showing your wall layout and how the wall groups are defined?

HELP! I'd like your help with a thread that I was forced to move to the business issues section where it will surely be seen by next to nobody that matters to me:
