I need code reference for dead + live load deflection to be not greater than L/240 as per Canadian Code.
For concrete it is Table 9.3 CSA A23.3-04, under 9.8.5.3
but looking as per steel for floor area in question.

The CWC Wood Design Manual (pg 15) gives a max deflection of L/180 for total load, and it references CSA O86.
Dont know if you need something specific to steel.
Ultimately, most deflection limits are actually just recommedations anyway, so you will not find a "code based limit" per se.
If you read clause 6.3.1.1 of the steel book, it says "see Appendix D for recommended values for deflection".

Appendix D does not give limit for dead + live .
Actually that number is important from a point of view if you have finishes above floor, it prevent it due to excessive deflections. That number might be our company derived, but i need specifically for concrete deck on steel beams/joists.
