Sir, I have pipe of P5 grade, so, PWHT is mandatory. Acc B31.3 and table 331.1.1 PWHT hr/inch. It says for min. 1 hr. But my query is that if thk is 7.11 or less than 25mm then how to decide holding time.
But if answer is minimum 1 hr is required.
Then my query is But just clearing my doubt that, we have to place soaking time, in 1hr, 2hrs,3hrs or acc to thk, it may go 1 1/2 hrs for 18mm thk.

Hi everybody. I have a question that's been bothering mee for quit Some time. An extra point of view in things would be apreciated. If a pipeline is installed in a trench iT is going to be manipulated with cranes and the pipeline Will be bent. THE Bending stress can be estimated but compared to what? Could the stress be categorized as a secundary stress? Most codes i have come across seem to limit the allowable to the yield value.

oeps my bad, sorry. The idea was starting a new thread..
