I need help in reinforcement details around large openings in RC slabs, I am aware that ACI 318 states that the removed reinforcement by the opening is to be put on each side of the opening. The problem here that I have large openings (1m x 2m) due to mechanical requirements inside a slab of thickness 1m, I don't think only replacing removed rebars on each side is right in such case, I need some resources in dealing with such large openings, thanks.

You might consider using Yield Line Analysis (upper bound) or the Hillerborg Strip Method (lower bound).

Design the slab as a series of strips. Take about 1 meter wide strips each side of the opening. Each strip is designed like a one way slab or beam. The header strips are designed to span to the centre line of each of the perpendicular strips.
