Removal of large rupture disc holders

How to others handle large rupture disc holders when discs need to be changed?

We are looking DN350 holders which weight ~ 60Kg and need to be removed from under the discharge tubes to change the discs. We have a way to jack up the discharge tubes but not sure how to slide out the holders.

Are we going to have to lift off the discharge tubes so we can grane the holders?

Kevin, do you mean 150kg RD holders do not have bolteyes or lugs for lifting?
 
Dumb comment...Reverse of how they were installed? Photo's etc., would be helpful.

I assume 60kg in total, so ~30kg per piece? 2 workers have no enough power to lift 30kg up? Where are those living? in New Zealand?
 
OP Changed weight from 150 kg to 60 kg without highlighting the correction in the post. Such holders should have threaded connections on their periphery to allow use of eye bolts etc., as Shvet had earlier alluded to. But if you can't remove the vertical tubes above, you may have an issue with the holder faces and adjoining faces/gaskets being ruined by sliding out. What is the pressure/rating/fluid/material?

In my opinion this is what you need to do.

Unless you have multiple eye bolt connections to allow you to lift the RD off the bottom flange then you won't be able to re instate the disc without destroying the gasket.

Essentially as the Obturator says, Removal is the reverse of installation.

I'm assuming here that when these were installed the sequence went, place lower gasket, lift RD into place, place upper gasket, lift on tail pipe??

Then anything else is going to cause you big issues on either removal of the RD holder as you don't have any good lifting points or on insertion when you could scrape the gaskets and destroy it.

Apart from all the issues to do with manual handling.

Update, the plant owner is going to;
Use a crane.
Add lifting lugs to the discharge tubes. Custom design to allow stops to be fitted without reaching up
Add threaded tapings to the holders for eye bolts
 
Good, That's much better than wrecking the items or giving someone a bad back.
