I have a problem.

I need mount a thin 4 x 10 inch plate onto four 1/8" dia unthreaded shafts, and have the ability to remove the plate often.

I was thinking of using a detent, or spring shape,

can anyone help me?

thanks Art

But the customer need to be able to remove this protective panel often and the retaining rings don't allow for easy removal.

I am considering a grommet, one that will be captivated by the panel and create enough friction to grab the 1/8 dia shaft.

Is there an e-ring that will snap on and off with little force, or do I need to play with tolerances?

thanks again

You can add a quick release to your panel. For example, add a lever to actuate the retaining clips. Another example might be to use four quick release pins.

Thanks Kwan

How does a lever actuate the retaining ring? is there a web site to see?

I have used quick release pins before from Southco, but for an 1/8" dia shaft I don't think they exist.

Thanks DVD

We have discussed Velcro but the the enviroment is for beverage containers and bacteria is an issue, hence no threads allowed on the shaft, for fear of bacteria build up.

Magnets seam to make the most sense but my mating part is copper and steel is not allowed because it can rust in the wash down. Some stainless steels are magnetic but I think they have a carbon content that will rust?
