Obviously this is a carry-over from the "Report a Client for Fraud" thread. Moon161's post got me thinking, there is probably plenty enough information now for the more (or less) astute to begin narrowing down this project/client/company/individuals.

It appears to be a pretty egregious case. So, anyone licensed in Casseopia's jurisdiction getting squeamish?

Where is the line for reporting something like this as an unrelated third party in a not-so-anonymous forum? I don't know.

None of us here are lawyers as far as I know, and most live and work in a different jurisdiction.

However laws of human behavior, including greed are pretty much universal.

A crook is a crook is a crook in any jurisdiction or culture and those that will cheat heir clients will also cheat their suppliers, quite possibly in some of the ways jmw suggests, although I am sure different jurisdictions have different bankruptcy laws. Iknow here any unusual payments to a creditor within the previous 12 months of going bankrupt are called preferential payments and can be and normally are confiscated by the receiver and placed with other assets for distribution to the creditors.

In the UK some politician was visited in his dreams with an idea to speed up and simplify the bankruptcy process.
He also thought it a good idea to try and prevent profitable subsidiaries going down with the unprofitable.

It proved a gift to the unscrupulous.
It is now dead easy to spend like crazy in one company, shuffle all the stock and any cash off to a second company and file bankruptcy in the purchasing company.

The assets of the "safe" subsidiary are now protected from the creditors and the receiver in the defunct company.

A thieves charter.

God save us from politicians with voices in their heads. Or ideas beyond their comprehension.
