I'm looking for good references for any information on (title) specifically regarding high strength steels (260ksi+ UTS)either stainless (400 series, 17-7, etc.) or Carbon. The specimens are generally simple cantilever beams.

The machine I am using is a very old (b/p ~1971) Unholtz Dickie ocillator/servo programmer, resonant dwell controller, counter, power amp, and 50lbs shaker. I was able to re-calibrate teh controller and get much more consistancy in the measured tip displacement. I still am having difficuty removing drift in the system though.

It is becoming difficult to secure confidence in the data due to very large variations test to test.

Thanks

Nick;
Are you looking for a test procedure or actual test data for these materials?

Test procedure and theroy. Also hints on fixturing and instrumentation. We like this type of testing for comparision between competing production processes.

I have a decent idea of how this works, I am just looking for as much info as possible to assist my research.
