Do you think trying to re-use 1964 air handling unit refrigerant coil with new refrigerant is a non-starter because:
1. New refrigerant pressure?
2. other reasons?

Assume there is no information on the existing coil available - which would be actual case.(other than size and connected condensing unit tons)

I would assume that it can't and shouldn't be reused but want explore all possibilities.

Do you have a test pressure statement on a tag on the coil ? If not do you know the make and model, can you go back to manufacturers data ? Older coils can be corroded on the outside reducing wall thickness , they can be hardened from metal fatigue . You need to ensure that this is all good before you use it , Oh and I did not even mention compressor oil yet.

You are judged not by what you know, but by what you can do.

The 1964 coil may not be suitable for the higher pressure of new refrigerants. Coils with copper fins have been found not to last as long as those with aluminum fins based on Lennox settlement.

Pressure constraints for an old coil will be the first thing to consider. The second thing to do is test the coil fins for corrosion/erosion.
