Hi,

Does anyone know of any software for simulating rigid body movement?? I'm looking for a software to model rigid bodies as bars with specified inertia properties and relative constraints. I wouldn't like to draw the assembly like for example when using SolidWorks.

I used Matlab SimMechanics for modelling a double A-arm suspension; but I wasn´t too convinced with some results compared with what I obtained with MSC Adams.

thanks,
Diego.

also MADYMO (maybe), MotionView (good luck), and that open source one from Germany (sorry, brain fade)

If you upgrade to SW Premium you get Cosmos motion, Cosmosworks, and Routing.

Gbor - No, it's a simulation language, not FE.

Mech151,
Cosmos is a good option for simulating the final design so as to check for part's interference; but I'm looking for a more mathematical way of building a mechanism without having to draw it.

I don't know if MotionView will let me do that.

Thanks,
Diego.

Yes it will. They are pushing it as an alternative to ADAMS for mechanism simulation, since a GOLDEN marketing opportunity has opened up with the introduction of XML databases instead of text files for ADAMS.
