Rolled-back state? 2

I keep getting the message when I open an assembly that one or more components are in a rolled-back state and if I wish to roll them forward.

I haven't been able to locate the rolled-back parts to keep from getting that message.

Does anyone know of a quick way to find them?

Its a problem in SW.. only option is to close the assembly and reopen it.

If you can't "find" your rolled-back part by re-opening the last few you edited... then I agree with Scott... but I'm usually able to find the right part when it happens ot me.

I work with 3 other SW users and one of them did it... so sadly I can't find them. I even tried openning every single part/assy... to no avail.

Here is the Solution from SW KB:
Solution Id: S-09722

Question:
A rollback and adding a cut feature of a component can result in a Non-responsive status of an assembly. Why? The following error message displays, 'One of the components of this assembly is in rollback state. The assembly is inaccessible now.’

Answer:
This is a known issue, and a workaround exists to resolve the issue.
1. Go to Window > Close all, and save all files when prompted.
2. Reopen these files and they will work properly. <However, there should be no rebuild message when re-open the assembly file according to the message before saving it.>

This issue has been identified and reported to the development team on SPR 333035 ("Rollback and adding cut feature of component result in Non-responsive status of its assembly.")

That workaround didn't work for me even though I said "Yes" to rolling them forward it would never fix it. I even tried openning in both Lightweight and fully Resolved modes... but what did work for me was to do this:

1) Select the Open icon or File -> Open

2) Check Advanced (also unchecked Lightweight but not sure if that is needed)

3) Select the file to Open

4) Click OK on the first dialog that shows up to "Open currently select configuration"

And then voila! it pauses at the file that is rolled back!

The reason the workaround that Scott found in the KB didn't work for me was that it was a sheet metal part that was funky... it wasn't apparent what was wrong but I unsuppressed the flat-pattern, rolled it back behind the flat-pattern, rolled it forward and then suppressed the flat pattern again, saved and voila!

Leaving out that it was a Sheet metal part was big key part to the puzzle. The more detail you provide the better your chances are at either us or your Technical support Rep can solve it for you.

I left it out because I didn't know it was a sheet metal part until I tried the workaround you suggested to no avail.

So, is there a KB article on this issue with sheet metal parts?
