Rotating hydraulic cylinder

I am designing a rotary hydraulic ram where the shaft is supported on either side of the piston with cylindrical roller bearings. The hydraulic force is created by a significant pressure drop between the piston and the housing, which the fluid will leak by and drain back to tank at atmospheric pressure. Shaft will be rotating at 3600 RPM. Anybody have any experience with a crazy idea like this?

thanks.

I have experience with quite a few similarly crazy ideas.
You will find few of them in publicly available products.
There is a reason.

On the other hand, based on the very limited data you've provided, I don't perceive a guaranteed deal-killer in what you've described.

Sorry for the limited information upfront. I wanted to see if there were any bites on this before I wasted my time. See attached .jpg for a quarter section view of the hydraulic ram. Basically the ram will move ~.10" before it bottoms out on the part were testing, then it will be purely static force while rotating up to 3600 RPM. We are testing bearing designs on the part being tested, so it will be couple to another shaft that has thrust bearings in a housing.

Some other information: Fluid is 68 centistoke oil @ 75 deg. F. System will limit the heat rise to 150 deg. F.
