RSLinx Ethernet comm issues

I am using RSLinx V2.42.00 to communicate over a WAN to 32 remote PLC's. These are Micrologix 1200 and Micrologix 1500 PLC's with 1761-NET-ENI modules being used to provide the ethernet interface. Is there a maximum number of OPC topics that can be configured within RSLinx? Somewhere I heard that you cannot have more than 20 topics configured within RSLinx.

Also, most of these remote connections are over either a 56K frame relay or 144K DSL connection. It does not appear that bandwidth is an issue, but Linx will occasionally "drop" one of the connections and not restore it until you stop the Linx service and restart it. Any thoughts on why this is occurring?

The bandwidth may not be a problem, the quality of service may. Maybe unsolicited messaging from the devices to RSLinx would solve the problem?
