Running NX7.5 from a vb.NET program

Dear all,

I just started to get to know NX automation. I tried to find on this website the answer to my basic problem which is:

I should develop a vb.NET program which is able to communicate with NX7.5. VB.NET program is running and at a certain point initiates NX, do some things in it, close it and then goes on with its own main task. It could be similar like vb.NET and Excel communication.

Is this even possible? Did anyone face this problem/task?

Hello

Take a look in the NX Open help an search for remote session control. The target NX session needs to run a small server dll, which hosts the NX objects through the http protocol. The remote client needs to be compiled with a few of the NN managed libraries to become familiar with the NX objects. With this technique you can develope a standalone application, which is driving an already existing nx session on the same or other computer.
