I have never seen any text books on seafastening although you may find sections in some naval architecture books, and as pretty much each case is unique I have never seen standard calculations.

Common references are:

Noble Denton 0030 Guidelines for Marine Transportation
DNV Rules for the Classification of Ships
DNV Rules for Planning and Execution of Marine Operations
IMO Code of Practice for Cargo Stowage and Securing

Other documents needed:

Deck plans
Ship structural drawings
Object to be seafastened structural drawings
Object size, weight, COG position

Some questions to consider:

What seafastening arrangement to adopt, lashing, corral/framed, direct welded, proprietary system?
What load path will you be designing for?
Do you need uplift restraint or are shear stops adequate?
Do you have tall items with a high COG?
Do you have high point loads on deck (uplift or bearing)?
Is it a timber or steel deck?
Do deck tees line up with under deck stiffeners? Where are the hard points?
Is greenwater a consideration? Is wind a consideration?
Do you have a warranty or class surveyor involved?
What is rated deck strength (e.g 10 t/m2)?
Do you need to weld above tanks?
Will you have anything cantilevering over the side of the vessel?
Access requirements?
Will item be so heavy that vessel stability may be compromised?

There will be many other things to consdier which will become apparent as you look into it.

Thank you very much for your kind reply.
