Good day,

I'm looking for a intermediate to advanced dynamic loading textbook but would like to consult the forum for recommendations. Preferably one that talks to FEM modelling but I'm very open to the old school hand calcs to understand the fundamentals.

Thanks in advance

I will suggest you to look to the following books ,

- Basic Structural Dynamics ,( Farzad Naeim , EsqJames C. Anderson )
- Advances in Structural Engineering Dynamics, Volume 2 ( Vasant Matsagar )
- Fundamentals of Structural Dynamics (Alessandrio Dazio )
- Structural dynamics of earthquake engineering (S. Rajasekaran )
- Seismic Design Handbook ( Bruce A. Bolt)
...

He is like a man building a house, who dug deep and laid the foundation on the rock. And when the flood arose, the stream beat vehemently against that house, and could not shake it, for it was founded on the rock..

The best I think I have ever read is 'Structural Dynamics: Theory and Applications', by: Tedesco, et al.

It covers a lot of topics that most structural dynamics books don't (like wave loads and so on). There isn't much on FEA in it though (IIRC).

Are we talking about seismic response spectra or time history? Elastic or non-linear?
Maybe dynamic equipment loading?
Walking vibrations or such?

The references will vary based on what you're doing:
For Response Spectra my favorite reference is "The Response Spectra Method" by AK Gupta
For a general structural dynamics reference I like "Structural Dynamics" by Mario Paz
