Seeking Waterproof Pots & Speakers (IPx7+ )

Hi,

Will preface this by saying I am not an electronics engineer so apologies for any incorrect / untechnical language...

Anway I am after a couple of things. Firstly any component suppliers who provide IPx7+ rated pots and speakers suitable for a handheld electronic devices - GPS, Portable Radios, etc.

And secondly any information assistance on potting electronics into plastic housings to acheive a waterproof seal. I have pulled a couple of IPx7 products apart and on one found a soft white bond/glue applied around the electronics.

Any help or suggestions much appreciated...Rich...a mech eng

It is to be submersed.

The final product needs to meet IPx7 & MIL810F - 512.4 which are both temporary submersed product tests to about 1m deep for 30mins. Then the product is operated out of the water. So no applied pressure above atmosphere really.

So any interface electronic components need to be able to withstand the temporary submersion and operate without degradation.

Hi Guys,

After a bit more searching and referring to pulled apart products I found that TOCOS do appear to supply IPx7 rated pots. More precisely no leak on shaft & bushing at 9.8kPa applied for 30 mins.
