Does the default font have to be set in each seed file, or is there a customer default that works? I have changed the default in Drafting>General>Lettering fonts, and it has no effect. I have changed it in the ugii_env file and it has no effect. By "has no effect" I mean that when I start a new file from "blank" the font does not reflect my change.
Thanks in advance!

OK, the Customer Default setting that you modified does NOT control which are the DEFAULT fonts used for what type of text, such as a note or a dimension. But rather that section of Customer Defaults is used to define which numbered font is which for those cases where it's important that you have the correct font in the correct 'register'. This can be an issue with translated files and when using user-written application which may have used Font numbers instead of actual names.

No, what you need to do is go to Drafting -> Genreal -> Standard and either edit one of the existing standards or create a new one where you have assigned new default Fonts for the different types of text, such as Apprended, General, Dimensions, etc. Note that editing a standard or creating a new one and making it the default will update all new file created whether you call for the 'Blank' (seed part) or one of the other for organized templates (seed parts) EXCEPT in the case where you are using a Drawing Template (seed part). In that case unless you also go to Drafting -> General -> Drawing and set the 'Drawing Settings' option to 'Use Settings from Standard' it will NOT overide the existing Drawing Template (seed part) settings.

If you follow the procedures outline above, including setting the 'Drawing Settings' option, there is no need to edit your existing or the system supplied template files (seed parts).

Excellent! I told my co-worker that you know everything and that you're my NX idol. And I like your writing style. Thanks again!

You should see John's demos. He makes everything seem so simple and easy to use. Definitely worth the price of admission!
