Hi

What is the best way to share variables or expressions between parts in an assembly? (besides wave linking)
Maybe some kind of global variables?
I have also thought of promoting a sketch with all the expressions.

Interpart Expressions ?

But interpart expressions have two drawbacks:
They cannot be modified or be viewed directly from the assembly, I need to change the working part every time (to the part that contain the expressions)
I think is less comfortable to write component1::x1 instead of just x1 (or to browse for it).

You could create the expressions in the Assembly file and link the components to those expressions. Then they will be accessible from the assembly.

Hello

If we are working in a part we cannot directly list that assembly expressions.

We first need to set the assembly as the working part or use interpart expressions.

You could always have different part files point to a common spreadsheet where you could make your expressions changes in and then when you open any of the individual part files, simply force an update and you're good to go.
