Is anyone familiar with determining the driveability of steel sheet piles? This is for a marine environment project and the soil is predominantly clay. I was attempting to relate the energy required against the soil resistance but not sure if there was an actual method.

Nice link, PEinc. I read the complete document quickly, but with interest. One thing surprised me - nowhere could I find mention of the common practice of driving sheet pile in pairs. This, even though the photo at the bottom of page 23, and the diagrams on page 26 clearly show this taking place. Maybe I missed it.

Years ago, Bethlehem Steel published that the energy needed to drive a pair of sheets was estimated to be only 1.5 times the energy to drive a single sheet (not double the energy, as might be expected).
