Sheetmode and modelmode in Draft Sight 3

His question was how do you switch draftsight between paper space and model space like you do in AutoCAD. There were a few responses, but they didn't answer the question and the thread was closed.

I had the same problem and after 20 minutes of agonizing searching here's how to switch between model space and paper space in Draftsight:

First off, DraftSight uses the commands sheetmode and modelmode.

1 Press F2 to open the command dialog box (or goto the command line near the bottom of the screen).
2. Enter the command sheetmode or modelmode and draftsight will switch to that mode.

Why there isn't a button for this I have no idea, but that's the trick... Good luck!

The usual reason I have to use the sheetmode command is when I am inside a viewport and there is nowhere to click outside it to revert to paper space. To avoid this problem, I generally lock the viewport (under Misc in the Properties dialog box). That also means you cannot change the viewport scale by mistake.

I use PS and MS in the command line, much less typing. I keep looking for a button for this also.

Thanks for the replies, glad I'm not the only one looking for a button. I ran into an issue where the file I opened was in the 'opposite' mode and I could not change it back.
