Hi,

Hoping that somebody could talk me through something i am trying to do.

I have created a large number of parts that change in size, all depending on one measurment. I was wondering if it was possible to do something whereby when i open the part it asks me what this measurment is (changes for every order). So for instance as spacer = the finished product size - 44.7. Could i create an expression that will ask me the size of the finished product and then create the new part?

Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Thanks!

What about creating a family table if the spacer sizes are of a known dimension?

You can do what you want with NX programming tools, but nothing OOTB will do it.

Not completely true Ben....

Out of the box you could use Product Template Studio (Licensed of course).
Using PTS you can create a template part which could ask you ( after saving to a new part ) the correct dimensions...

You are very close in your desire to a "reusable component", which when used as a component can present a dialog where you enter a value for a specific or multiple expressions.
The option to re-use an existing part or clone into a new exists in this dialog.

what version of NX ?
Native mode or Teamcenter ?
