Siemens NX12 Network Wifi issues

I have recently started working from home due to the local Covid restrictions. We have all taken our workstations home and login via a VPN. I am unable to connect the workstation to the router via a network cable as the office and router are at opposite ends of the property, so I have to reluctantly use WiFi.

The problem is when using the WiFi and NX, NX seems to be polling something every 10 seconds. This does not affect NX, but it makes using Zoom or Skype impossible. The video and sound lags and cuts out. If I close down NX, the issue disappears.

This has got our IT team confused as well. They ran a test to ping the server every 10 seconds, and get a response of 25ms, but every 10 seconds this jumps briefly to 2000ms. Close NX and this goes back to a constant 25ms.

When I run a download speed test, this also shows the connection speed dropping from 40mbps to 13mbps every 10 seconds too.

Can anyone shed any light on what is going on, and how I can fix it? Any help would be much appreciated!

NX12 version: 12.0.2.9

Is your license server provided through vpn? It may be polling that. If so, suggest you consider license borrowing? I'm not sure. I would expect you get a better response if you post to Link

NX does a "handshake" with the license server every .... This handshake is called a "heartbeat".
If NX looses more than 3 (or was it 5? ) heartbeats the session is "dying". You can continue working as long as you do not require another license key.
the frequency of these heartbeats is a secret since else you could "easier" crack the licensing mechanism.
But, It's rather 3-5 minutes between the heartbeats than 10 seconds.
- I doubt that it's the license doing this.

Tomas
