I want to design tank
That will contain saturated water flash steam
The tank is vented to atmosphere
I don't know if I will use a vertical rectangular tank or horizontal cylindrical tank
The tank will be equipped with pump that will work with level switch installed on tank level
I wish to know the suitable design and how to calculate the thickness of the tank please tell me if there is code to use
Thanks a lot

engfir, tanks at ATM pressure are not normally Code tanks, although they can be.

You are mostly concerned with hydrostatic pressure and any external loadings, wind, seismic, whatever. Design per a strength of materials approach, using whatever analysis seems suited.

I would say round tanks are easier to design and build.

I would like to add that the tank capacity is around 9 m3
The temperature is around 95 c
So I want the equation of high temperature design cases
Also if you could give me the equation of design Semitic load
Thanks for your help

engfir, for most steels there will be no difference in allowable stresses between ambient and 95 C. You will have to pick a steel, then get its allowabes from its spec or something like that.

Seismic load calculations are generally performed to a building code, again you have to find which one would be applicable at your site.

There is too much here to just give it all to you on a forum like this. Consider a trip to a library?

Regards,

Mike
