Hi All,

I just stumbled upon this particular case where I want to set the length of a sketch curve (spline, arc, etc.)
equal that of a edge (also spline, arc, etc.) in the model, marked in yellow here. The two entities should be
parametrically linked. I could not find a straightforward solution. Does anybody know how to do that?

With an Arc, you select the endpoints then the arc and it should give you a linear dimension for the length of the arc. as for a spline, I don't recall there being a dimensional option for that. You can select the spline and give it a length I think.

You could use convert entities to create a sketch element that is parametrically linked to your edge, make that sketch element a construction element, and then constrain your arc to have equal length to the construction element.

In SW 2017 there is no option to set an equal length relation between the projected curve and the sketch arc.

how about making the desired length a global variable ???

I don't remember 2017 exactly (working on 2018 now), but can you create Path and measure Path Length?

Path dimensions did the trick, just had to split the entities in two to be able to create the paths:
