Good morning,
I am wondering if ETBAS and/or SAP2000 will automatically consider Live Load Pattern Loading, please see image attached.
CSI's website ( ) refers to it but for SAFE rather than ETABS or SAP2000.
Currently, we have a few cantilever-beams supported by other cantilever-beams - NBCC 2010 4.1.5.3 (Full and Partial Loading) states the designer must select the load pattern that produces the most critical effect. This could be 100% of snow load on the cantilever section and 50% superimposed deadload in the backspan. How can we or how does ETABS/SAP2000 take this into consideration. Since I am applying area loads, I can not seem to figure out how to manually adjust my user-defined load combinations so that Skipping of Loads or Pattern Loading is taken into consideration.
I don't mind reading an article - I just did not find an article related to it (except the one for SAFE).
Thank you.
