Smart fastensrs for slotted componets

How do I use SF for components that have slots and not circular holes? For example, some bearings have slots (i.e. linear cut with a circular cut on both sides) to allow adjustment. If I want to put a fastener through this slot, how do I do that?

You really can't. You can insert TB parts and mate them using Planes, sketches, or points.

How do I add Toolbox parts (fasteners) into an assembly without using Smart Fasteners? I mean how do I add fasteners without having to specify a particular hole where I want it?

Just drag it into an open area and release.

Sorry for sounding so stupid, but I am a new user of Toolbox/Smart Fasteners. Suppose I want to add a M16x2 SHCS to my assembly (not to any particular hole). How do I do find this bolt and where do I drag it from?

TB should list the type of bolt you want to use SHCS - You drag and drop in the Bolt and you pick the size from there. The best to see this is to do this.
