Solutions for hygienic handling of bar screen solids

This is the "standard" screen setup after the headworks in municipal wwtp:

bar screen -> washing press -> solids fall into open container, to be disposed.
Often the pipe of the washing press is equipped with a bagging device (endless plasitc hose wrapped around the end), however I hear from operators that since this doesn't really work: The bagging device is about 3m above ground to allow for the dumpster, after this height any pice of solids will pull a batch of the endless hose with it.

The bagging device is redundant, for when no dumpster is available.

My questions are:
Is there a way to not have an open container and have the system more encapsulated (it will of course depend on the type of container used by the respective disposal company)?

Are there alternatives to the bagging system that work for the described situation?
I recently brainstormed solutions with an operator and a contractor, we came up with a movable chute (to slow the solids) and a bagging device, that the operators could move under the funnel when no dumpster is availabe. But to our knowledge such a system is not available on the market.

Hello MartinLe,

Suggestions:

A more complicated but hygienic handling system.

Whole loading area to be encapsulated in sealed, control ventilated building/room.
Extra container after press for preliminary store before loading to movable container or truck to be sealed before leaving.
Bottom screw in container and elevated screw for loading if height problems.

That would be beautiful and with the next bar screen project I want to try and build something like this. Problem is, you always are working on and in existing plants with lots of constraints and not all clients see the neccessity.

Where are you in the world? Climatic conditions? Outdoors? In Europe a not proper hygienic solution would most probably not be allowed.

Possibly cheaper solutions:

Loadable, more or less closed container, filling protected by skirts, elevated, and separate, to be lowered on to suitable trucks. Drawback: cost and transportation capacity. Cleaning and return.

Big bag system. Drawback: as above plus supporting system for bags (gitter containers?) if too fluid.

We are in Germany. And contrary to public perception, regulations are strict but not thaat strict. It all boils down to the operators' risk assessment. And tbh, the workers on the plant are far less bothered by the situation than me .
