Would anyone care to participate in running (and bench marking the solution time) the following 3D frame structural model using any commercial structural analysis programs available to you? Most of the structural programs have some modeling tools to quickly generate such a model.
Model: 30 X-spans by 30 Y-spans by 30 stories high, fixed restraints at the bottom (Number of Nodes=29,791, Total Degrees of Freedoms=178,746)
Analysis Type: Linear Static
Loads: one load case or combination

I noticed a big speed difference to solve the model using couple of programs available to me. I will just list the results from a program called Real3D here.
Machine: Dell XPS 9510, 64-GB memory, i9 2.5 GHz, 8-Cores
OS: Windows 11 64-bit
Real3D v24 (Sparse solver): 15 seconds

General purpose FEA codes (like Ansys, Nastran, Abaqus, etc.) will solve 30k nodes linear static solution less than a minute. Don`t think that we can get some useful information from this comparison. Solution time will be heavily affected by some non solver factors like Windows Defender will check solver executable file before solution can be started.
If you experiencing some really slow solution speeds than maybe you would better contact program tech support and try to find bottlenecks like system setting that reduce solution speed.

Solution time will be somewhat dependent on the loadcase. Quickest should be an applied horizontal displacement to say the top edge of the cube.

I use structural software in Civil Engineering and do not use general purpose FEA such as Ansys, Nastran, Abaqus, Adina. I am more familiar with SAP2000, Risa3D, Visual Analysis etc. The differences in solver speeds between couple of software on the same computer are surprising to me.
