Spacing between PEM fasteners

can anyone assist me with a calculation or formula to work out the distance between M4 PEM fasteners whilst using 2mm mild steel sheet to give maximum strength but minimal weight.[ponder]

Big Daz; There is software out there that can help you do this. Check out Use the English version. I think it allows you to switch to metric once you get in

I always used a "rule-of-thumb" of 1.5 - 2.0 times the screw diameter, depending on the material, for wall thickness. In the 2mm steel you should be OK with the 1.5d You should always test out your calculations before putting them into use.
