For a design he is working on, a colleague needs a 2-56 flathead countersunk screw with a small head diameter, no larger than 3.8mm. He managed to find several such screws online, but none were listed as compliant with any recognized specification.

Does anyone know of specifications (MS, ANSI, AN, DIN, etc.) for screws with smaller than standard head diameters?

Thanks.

MS24693 looks like it gets to 2-56 with a 4.37mm head diameter

It was respun under the NASM24693 standard, but the part numbers are the same.

YossiD,

You are looking for either a fillister head machine screw or a hex socket head cap screw. At 2-56UNC, both have heads smaller than 3.8mm. Why do you need to be compliant to a standard?

YossiD,

Oops! I missed the countersunk part. How about centre boring?
