Hello, I have many curves that intersect each other in several points and I need to split the curves at any intersection point. Is there a way to do this with just one command ?

I wrote a grip program which is able to cut every part of an open curve which is outside of a closed curve. Still I cannot find any way to split curves at multiple intersection points. Such "split" command exist for example in Rhinoceros and works for both curves and surfaces.

When you say 'curves', what kind are we talking about, just lines or could they also include arcs, conics and splines? Also, are we talking about a single curve intersected by several other curves or many curves by many curves? And are all of the curves lying in the same 2D plane or are they 3D curves in space? Could you also supply at least a picture of a typical set of curves?

I can post a sample .prt file tomorrow. Anyway when I say curves I mean lines, conics and splines, open or close. And my problem involves many curves intersecting many curves all laying in the same 2D plane. Suppose you have a net and you want to split each curve where it intersects another curve. Objects should be splitted and not trimmed, meaning that every resulting part must be kept.

Just as a thought if you are having problems because you want to Extrude or Revolve from continuous curves then it may help you to know that under the selection dialog called "Stop at Intersection".

Hudson, we use NX to design injection moulds for rubber soles production. Soles have complex 2D drawings that we create by curves. Such curves lay on a 2D plane and we finally use cam to engrave them to the mould surface. We need tools to deal with such drawings.

From what you described, I thinks it's going to be very difficult, using NX Open, to write a program which would accomplish what you describe.

That being said, alone Hudson's line, perhaps if you could explain better (in more detail) what exactly it is that you need to do that could not be done if the curve were left as they are.
